Agassi's Meth

Gee. Just when you think all is right with one of your most admired athletes, you find out this. (Even though its days old).

World renown tennis star, Andre Agassi did Meth.

Another athlete-does-drugs story that somehow missed making the news, or was swept under the rug, until now.

Agassi has a new tell all book (autobiography, out November 9th) in which he describes how he used Meth and avoided discipline by the Association of Tennis Professionals.

What?

No fine? No penalty? No suspension? Apparently not.

Here's an excerpt from the soon to be released work where Agassi is having a conversation with his 'assistant', Slim about using the drug.

"Slim is stressed too ... He says, You want to get high with me? On what? Gack. What the hell's gack? Crystal meth," Agassi recounts in the book. "Why do they call it gack? Because that's the sound you make when you're high ... Make you feel like Superman, dude.

"As if they're coming out of someone else's mouth, I hear these words: You know what? F*** it. Yeah. Let's get high.

Let's see here. Serena Williams gets fined for yelling at an official during a match. John McEnroe yelled at officials (and anybody else) all the time, and was rarely, if ever fined during his career. Michael Phelps smoked weed and had several rendezvous with strippers (and Subway comes a calling). Andre Agassi, one of the world's best tennis players, whom I watched play and admired back in the day (I loved him with his God given hair), used Meth (an illegal drug) and got away with it.

The disparity in the world of sports just got a little wider.
