Georgetown Hoyas v China: The Brawl For It All

Not so good for U.S.- China Relations

Vice President Biden visits the Hoyas team before the game.

Just as Vice President Joe Biden is visiting China to help strengthen U.S./Chinese relations, our own Georgetown basketball team (also in China) for )to play China's Bayi Rockets in the 2011 Goodwill Games, came to blows.

Watch the vid below.

Hoya head coach John Thompson, III issued a statement saying
"Tonight, two great teams played a very competitive game that unfortunately ended after heated exchanges with both teams. We sincerely regret that this situation occurred. We remain grateful for the opportunity our student-athletes are having to engage in a sport they love here in China, while strengthening their understanding of a nation we respect and admire at Georgetown University."

Only one of those 'great teams' ended up with the W. In spite of all the ma lee that ensued, the Hoyas won 98-81.

Said Biden on the visit, "There's nothing more important than our relationship with China."
