Another 'Not Really Sports Related' Moment

In case you didn't know, members of Congress, and the National Congress of Black Women held a ceremony at the US Capitol's Emancipation Hall honoring Sojourner Truth.

She is the first African American women of the suffrage movement to have a bust in the Capitol.

Trying to keep it sports-related, I did speak with Nicole Thomas, wife of Etan Thomas, to get her thoughts on the event during a NCBW mid-day luncheon at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel in DC.

"I think it is great to have Sojourner Truth recognized after all this time."

On hand for the occasion at the US Capitol were First Lady Michelle Obama, Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton; House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, Senator Harry Reid, and others.

Truly, a joyous occasion.

Yes, I cover politics too.
