(DC UrbanSports) - Fight for Children (Fight Night) had its annual Fall fundraising gala November 5th at the Washington Hilton.
The event raises funds for underserved children in the DC metropolitan region, and Baltimore, by providing grants and offering programs that enhance learning and educational opportunities for school-aged children. The area's business, political and professional sports communities come together to make it happen, donating large sums of money to the cause.
The night, as we've reported before, also hosts boxing legends from generations gone by, provides entertainment and plenty of 'top-tiered' food and drink.
This year's event saw the likes of legendary boxers Ernie Shavers, Buster Dougles, Ray Mancini, Gerry Cooney and others. The entertainment was Frank Sinatra, Jr (the exact replica in sound and sight of his father, the one-and-only Frank Sinatra, Sr.).
The event raises nearly hundreds of thousands of dollars each year and was founded by real estate business man Joe Robert, Jr. who died two years ago. Fight For Children is in its 26th year.
See why.
