1985 Super Bowl Champs Honored at the White House

Those NFL characters you loved in 1985 made their appearance at the White House when President Obama, Chicagoan and avid Bears fan, honored the team that had waited twenty-five years for their just due, calling them "The greatest team in NFL history."

The Bears, noted for their defeat of the New England Patriots in 1986, and their Super Bowl Shuffle, shuffled their way onto the South Lawn of the White House where finally a U.S. president honored the team that broke all barriers, records, and to their credit, recorded the only Grammy nominated song.

"We’re very proud that you honored us by bringing us here", said Bears former head coach, Mike Ditka. "It’s only 26 years after the fact, and five administrations, but thank you."

Super line backer Otis Wilson and Super Bowl MVP Richard Dent chatted it up with the media after the ceremony sharing stories of their career, even giving a bold prediction about the current Chicago Bears team.



Also on hand at the ceremony were wives of Walter Peyton and Dave Duerson, two players of the storied Bears who passed.
