Fans are taking it to the streets, via the Internet that is, to publicly decry what they think are the shenanigans of the NFL regarding a possible NFL lockout next season.
The Sports Fans Coalition, with the slogan that all but reads like 'play next season, or give me my money back', hopes that NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, NFL owners and players hear their cry.
A quote on the Sports Fans Coalition web site reads: "We have already spent billions of dollars financing NFL stadiums. If you are unwilling to at least play football games, we will ask you to return some of those tax dollars to our communities".
Players say they just want to play, and even took their message to Capitol Hill (dang, first concussions, now lockouts) this week to meet with members of Congress and explain to them the negative consequences an NFL lockout would have in cities across the country—affecting far more than just owners and players. (View vid here).
A lockout could potentially put lots of people out of work in an economy that is just seeing signs of recovery from a depression-like status.
If you feel the same way, let your voice be heard at SaveNextSeason.com.
The Super Bowl is just a couple weeks away. What an opportune time for fans and players to make their case.
Just sayin'.
(Side note: We don't really think there will EVER be an NFL lockout. Think about it.)
