It's been a great year for Redskins' corner back D. Hall.
Hall was named Defensive Player of the Week after 4 having interceptions in Week 7 against the Chicago Bears, and getting another the following week against the Detroit Lions.
But he never imagined - at least not at the beginning of the season - that he'd be among the NFL's Pro Bowl elite as a Washington Redskin.
“When I first started this season, it was the last thing on my mind", Hall said during a telephone press conference last evening. But as the season progressed, the two-time Pro-Bowler thought about what it would be like.
"I was like, Man, I would love to make a Pro Bowl as a Redskin. Just to be in that category as a Redskins Pro Bowler."
This week he got word that he had been selected.
Hall tweeted the following to his fans earlier today:
“I am extremely surprised that I’m the only one going. If you look at some of the other players we have on our roster, I definitely feel like they deserve to be out there in Hawaii too. If you look at Lorenzo Alexander and the great plays he’s made throughout the season, especially on special teams. I definitely think he should have been an NFC representative over there. Brian Orakpo has missed a couple of games due to injuries, but you look at the holding calls he’s gotten and still being able to accumulate 8.5 sacks, I definitely think he’s a guy that still should have been over there. You look at the productivity that London Fletcher has had, I think he still should have been over there too. There are a couple of guys that should have been on the team with me. The great part about the way they do these things is there will be some playoff teams and guys that won’t go because they don’t feel like going or have other obligations. So, I’ll look forward to seeing a couple of the Redskins helping us over there with me.”
Hall may not have to rely on those statistics as outside linebacker Brian Orakpo and fullback Mike Sellers were chosen as first alternates. Special teams member Lorenzo Alexander, tight end Chris Cooley and inside linebacker London Fletcher were selected as second alternates.
With Hall’s selection, the Redskins have had at least one Pro Bowl player for 17 straight seasons.
Hall (and company) will be joined by five of the neighboring Baltimore Ravens: Twelve-timer Ray Lewis (no surprise there), Terrell Suggs (his 3rd), Ed Reed (his 7th), and first-timer, Billy Cundiff.
Eagles' QB Michael Vick, and St. Louis QB Drew Brees will also be high stepping in the Aloha state.
I just have two questions. What? No Randy Moss?
Watch January 30th, 7pm on Fox.
Before that, watch Hall and the Redskins take on the New York Giants in the last game of the season. Kick off: 4:15 at FedEX Field.

More Player Accolades From The Park
Among the Pro Bowl selections earned by the Redskins, another Skins player was awarded for his efforts as well.
Kicker Graham Gano was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the 20-17 win over Jacksonville.
The former FSU-er is the third Redskin to earn an NFL weekly honor this season, joining LaRon Landry (Week 5) and DeAngelo Hall (Week 7), who both won NFC Defensive Player of the Week.
Since the NFL started awarding weekly honors in 1984, a Redskins player has won 79 times, including 15 NFC Special Teams Player of the Week awards. Punter Hunter Smith was the most recent to do so before Gano when he was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week following Week 10 of last season. Gano is only the second Redskins kicker to ever win the award, joining Shaun Suisham, who was recognized in Week 9 of the 2007 season.
