One day after Vinny Cerrato leaves the Redskins organization, and Bruce Allen is hired as GM and VP of Football Ops, the question remains -- who will be the next head coach of the Washington Redskins?
While stating in a press conference yesterday, Allen said, “Well, we don’t have an opening at that position...Jim Zorn is our coach".
Really?
I guess someone, somewhere, thinks otherwise as it's being reported that the Redskins and Mike Shanahan have apparently begun talks over the head-coaching position in Washington.
Shanahan was the Broncos' coach for 14 seasons, winning back-to-back Super Bowls in the 1997-98 seasons, that is until he was fired after his third consecutive nonplayoff appearance last season.
Maybe Allen should have said, “Well, we don’t have an opening at that position" at this time.
Whether Gruden or Shanahan, one thing is clear: the offseason cometh, and we all will be watching (and waiting) to see what the next move will bring.
