Bringing Awareness To Domestic Violence Via Fashion

Fund Strives To Stamp Out Domestic Violence, One Suit At A Time.

Domestic violence comes in many forms: physical, mental, verbal, psychological.

The prevention-based mission of Becky's Fund, founded by Executive Director, Becky Lee is designed to foster the awareness of, and break the cycle of domestic violence by encouraging advocacy among peers, promoting activism through outreach programs and creating support for victims.

Domestic violence can happen to anyone, regardless of age, background, or socioeconomic status.

Through her platform, Ms. Lee also speaks on college campuses to educate students on how to recognize the warning signs of dating violence and where to go to receive help.

Lee was the runner up on the CBS television series Survivor: Cook Islands and used her winnings to begin Becky's Fund.

The 'Walk This Way' fashion show bought out the likes of Redskins Jason Campbell and Clinton Portis, and DC United's soccer team, and featured the fashions of designer Eric Finn.

The event featured its runway over a pool on the roof top of the eclectic Liaison Hotel in downtown DC.

The event was emceed by Channel 4’s Lindsay Czarniak.

Seen at the event: Councilman Vincent Gray, Skins' Chris Cooley and DeAngelo Hall, jazz artist Marcus Johnson, R&B artist Ginuwine, and more. Click here for photos.
