Aw, Mondays.
A time to recap the events of the weekend. I usually do this in the 'Monday In Sports' segment, but as you know by now (if you're an avid DC UrbanSports blog reader) - I like to switch things up every now and again.
So, in this segment of NRSR, we have the following...
Chuck Brown, a Washington DC icon, received his own street sign this past weekend in celebration of his birthday.
Those in the know, realize Chuck for his infectious Go-Go sound that has permeated the streets of DC for well over 30 years.
City council rewarded the musical icon with 'Chuck Brown Way'. The sign is located between in 7th and T Streets, NW.
Here's a look.
Chuck performed last Saturday night at the 9:30 Club, an annual birthday tradition dating back to 2000.
Congratulations, Chuck! And Happy Birthday!
On a sports note, I think Dan Synder should have Chuck play at half-time during the first home game of the regular season.
Can you picture Landover at Fed Ex Field doing Chuck Brown's Party Roll?
