Manny Gone!

If you haven't heard, the Nats relieved Manny Acta of his duties as manager with the Washington Nationals.

Acta learned Sunday night from Nats' president, Stan Kastan, and acting GM, Mike Rizzo.

Acta served for most of two seasons (and some change) for a team with lack luster performances, with even less wins (26-61) on the 2009 season.

In a letter to fans, the 'Washington Nationals Baseball Club' had this to say:

"No one is more dissatisfied in the first half of the 2009 Washington Nationals season than we are. (Wanna bet?*)

Like you, we had hoped that some of our younger players would have matured faster, and that the addition of some of our new veterans would have significantly improved our record from a season ago. Our hope was that a solid club leadership would emerge on and off the field, and that some intangible combinations would begin to click, resulting in many winning streaks."

Sincerely, Washington Nationals Baseball Club
3-2-1... Issue!

What's wrong with that picture? "Sincerely, the WNBC"?

Note to the Nats: You should have just signed the letter 'Anonymous', if you're not going to attach a (blame), I mean, name to the letter.

From whom, in the WNBC did the letter come? Does EVERYONE within the WNBC feel the same way, hence the reason for the 'blanket' signature?

Why not just sign it, "Sincerely, the Nats Gang"?

Read more of the letter here.

Continuing on...

Jim Riggleman (622-652 career record) replaces Acta (158-252 record) going into the MLB All-Star break.

"It's unfortunate how things turned out," said Nats', Jason Bergmann. "We probably had our best team in the last couple of years. Unfortunately, we had the worst record, too."

Hey, we wish Manny the best in his new baseball endeavor. (What ever that will be).

We know its hard out here for a manager (player, owner) of the Washington "We don't credential bloggers" Nationals.

Manny's been messing up for months now. He doesn't care about the team, or winning.

They're better off without him.
