DPW vs DDOT

This Saturday kicks off Professional Equipment Roadeo, sponsored by the D.C. Department of Public Works (DPW) and the D.C. Department of Transportation (DDOT).

The Roadeo is an annual competition in which DPW/DDOT employees test their skills with heavy road, and other large, vehicle equipment such as snow plows, tow trucks, bucket trucks, front end loaders, and other vehicles used to clean, clear and maintain the city’s infrastructure.

During the competition, drivers take their machines through an obstacle course of challenges and compete for an opportunity to advance to the American Public Works Association Regional Equipment Roadeo.

The Roadeo is free to the public and takes place in RFK Stadium Lots 6 and 7 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. DPW Director William O. Howland, Jr., DDOT Director Gabe Klein and D.C. Councilmember Muriel Bowser (Ward 4) and other local personalities will compete between 9 – 10 a.m.

Nice Sharing, sounds cool. I have seen too many workers injured and even killed working with unsafe construction equipment. It seems to be all about the bottom dollar to most manufacturers which is why you have to be very careful when purchasing new machinery.
