"I got seconds before she's gone, man!"
Those were the words of pro football running back Ryan Moats as he was being detained by Dallas police officer, Robert Powell.
Powell tried to cite Moats for running a red light as Moats and his wife Tamisha were racing to the hospital to be by the side of Tamisha's mother, 45-year-old Jonetta "Jo" Collinsworth, who had just minutes to live.
Collinsworth died while Moats tried to explain the dire situation to the officer. See dramatic video below.
.
Even Barney Fife would have understood.
Even after nurses from the hospital came outside to explain the urgency of the situation to the officer, he was bent on detaining Moats.
Powell has since been put on paid administrative leave (vacation).
Ryan and his wife gave their account of the ordeal on this morning's Good Morning America. (View it here).
No formal apology has been given to the Moats directly by Powell; however, the Moats said they would accept the apology if it were offered by Powell.
An apology has been given by Chief of Police, David Kunkle.
Since the March 18th ordeal involving the Moats, another allegation has since surfaced against 'Power Trippin' Powell.
