August 29, 2008 - The first 3,000 ladies received a long-stem carnation, courtesy of the Washington Mystics as part of their “Ladies Night” promotion.
Upstairs in the Verizon Center’s Dewar’s 12 Club, ladies were treated to a special night of pampering with makeovers, paraffin wax treatments, health and beauty info, and more!
Yours truly was treated to a makeover by makeup artist Sanya Coulter of ‘On In 5 Make-Up’. She gave expert beauty advice and reminds ladies that being beautiful doesn’t have to be expensive. She recommends using cosmetics right from local stores like CVS.
"They work just as well', said Sanya.
Her favorites? UrbanDecay’s primer potion and Black Opal's foundation sticks.
Other vendors featured were Aesthetic Centers’ About Face; Dainty As She Wanna Be Mobile Nail Spa and Lounge, and the Whitman Walker Clinic Breast Health Initiative.

The ladies entered raffles to win prizes. Among the featured prizes: a Spa pac, tickets to Janet Jackson's upcoming concert at the Verizon Center, and a Mystics bag featuring a Mystics player bobble head, and more.
