Wizards win, live to play another playoff game.

The Wizards beat the 76ers 122-114 in Game 4 of the NBA Playoffs Sunday night at Capitol One Arena.

The team was trailing their opponent by 11 points early on until their awakening with forward David Bertans drained back-to-back threes to add a spark.

That spark would continue after their nemesis, Joel Embiid of the 76ers, collided with a Wizards’ player on a blocking attempt in the second quarter that sent Embiid falling hard to the ground, hyperextending his right knee.

The Wizards would continue to rally throughout the evening with scoring efforts from power forward Rui Hachimura (20 points, 13 rebounds) who found a way to showcase his talents to give the Wizards their first game lead on the night off a Westbrook pass.

The game would go through nine; count ‘em, nine lead changes.

Hachimura would sink a bucket with just :45 left in the third to give the Wizards a two point, 60-58 lead.

Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal both had a decent night, scoring 19 and 27 points respectively. Beal scored his 1,000th playoff point in Monday’s contest.

76er’s Ben Simmons scored 13 points with 12 rebounds and three assists.

The two teams meet Wednesday at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center. Game time, 7 p.m.

#Thenthishappened.

This ‘fan’ really thinks he is an NBA player.

A fan runs onto the court during Monday night’s NBA playoff game.

In a perfectly angled video a man wearing a yellow sweatshirt and burgundy sweat pants runs onto the court, pretends to touch the side of the rim, before a special police officer gets at him and tackles him to the court’s floor like he was an NFL outside linebacker.

It was later reported that the ‘fan’ was arrested and charged by D.C.’s MPD. He has also been banned from Capital One Area.  (Wonder if he was paid to produce such antics).

An official statement from Monumental Sports (owner of D.C.’s Wizards, Caps, Mystics) reads as follows:

“Monumental Sports & Entertainment has a zero tolerance policy when fans violate our code of conduct at Capital One Arena,” MSE wrote in a statement on Twitter.

“During this evening’s game, a fan was apprehended by Capital One Arena Special Police after attempting to breach the court. He will be banned from the arena and charges are being pursued with DC MPD.”

(What a way to spend a holiday – in jail).

There have been at least three other incidents of fans displaying inappropriate behavior towards players during the 2021 NBA Playoffs.

At this point, maybe the offenders should not be called fans, but rather ‘attendees’.

What are they really a fan of?
