2018 World Champion Washington Capitals parade through DC to celebrate winning Stanley Cup.

Persistence pays off. Just asked the World Champion Washington Capitals.

After nearly thirty years without winning a NHL championship, the Rock the Red, ALL CAPS, red hot Capitals celebrate winning the Stanley Cup with a parade through downtown Washington, DC that saw a sea of red for miles.

The team defeated the Vegas Golden Knights with a 5-4 in Las Vegas during the Stanley Cup Finals.

"It's basically nuts. You guys [are] killing it", said team's captain Alex Ovechkin as he spoke to fans in a post-parade celebration on the National Mall.

With their first championship win, the Caps have already began chanting a new catch phrase, 'Back-to-Back' in anticipation of a 2019 World Championship.

The celebration culminated with the playing of We Are The Champions, a 1980s tune enjoyed by Queen fans everywhere.
