Ryan Kerrigan's Summer Football Camp (and other Redskins news)

Washington Redskin linebacker Ryan Kerrigan is hosting his annual football camp July 11-16th at George Mason University.

The camp is geared toward teaching football fundamentals for ages 7 to 18.  Both girls and boys are welcome.

Kerrigan started every game for the Redskins since being drafted in the first-round of the 2011 NFL Draft.  He has 70 total tackles and 7.5 sacks, earning him second on the team, while his four forced fumbles and 42 quarterback pressures were a team high.

“The instruction these kids get from the coaches, as well as the various NFL players that attend this camp, is invaluable,” says Kerrigan.

All football beginners and experienced players are welcome and will experience teamwork,
consideration of others, self-discipline, and how to attain their potential in sports and in life.

Camp attendees will also learn the importance of achieving good grades and selecting correct role models.

Parents can sign their kids up by going to footballcamps.com, or by calling 301-575-9400.

Last we heard, DC has not made pot smoking legal, just yet.

Assuming that's what it was, we've learned that Redskins' Tanard Jackson has "immediately" been suspended - "indefinitely without pay" - for violating the NFL's drug policy (Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse).

Not to be rude, but didn't you learn anything from Fred Davis?   What will you do now?

Tanard Jackson's

Timeline

2010: On September 22, 2010, he was suspended indefinitely by the NFL for a violation of their substance abuse policy.
2011: Because the suspension was Tanard's second violation (he missed the first four games in the previous season due to a violation), he was declared ineligible for reinstatement until September 22, 2011, ending his season after two games and 13 tackles.
2011: He made his first 2011 Season debut on Sunday October 16, 2011 against the New Orleans Saints Jackson got a pick in his first game against the Saints at home during week 6 of the 2011 season.
2012: Jackson was released by the Buccaneers on April 10, 2012 after he failed to pass a physical.
