Wizards Wow Home Court Saturday Night

Did you see the game between the Washington Wizards and the Detroit Pistons?

It was entertaining to see the Wizards sail past the Pistons for a 106-82 win in front of the home crowd last Saturday evening.

The team shot 50%, and saw its starters all score double figures.  Point man John Wall wowed with 20 points and 11 assists on the evening.  Trevor Ariza added 15 buckets, five rebounds and six assists.  In a united team effort Marcin Gortat played very well in the game producing 16 points and seven rebounds. Trevor Booker scored ten points and had 9 rebounds.

The team also welcomed the granddaughters of the late Nelson Mandela who visited the team to promote their fundraising initiative for South Africa.

"It really was a moment in time when we could reflect on all that he accomplished", said Wizards owner Ted Leonsis.  "He was meaningful to the players, and meaningful to the NBA."

The Wizards, standing at 13-14 on the season, travel to Detroit to take on the Pistons again tonight in a revenge matchup at 7:30 p.m.
