DC United Playoff Run Illuminates Convention Center

To support D.C. United’s playoff run, Events DC has illuminated the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in a red glow with the team’s logo. D.C. United travels to Red Bull Arena for the second leg of the MLS Eastern Conference Semifinals to face the New York Red Bulls tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network.



“This is a big game for D.C. United and we want them to know they have the city’s support for tonight’s game and throughout their playoff run,” said Gregory A. O’Dell, Events DC president and CEO.

United hosted the first leg of the semifinals on Saturday, November 3 at RFK Stadium, and played to a 1-1 draw in the two-game, total-goal series. Saturday's win was their  first Eastern Conference Finals appearance since 2006.

On October 20, 2012, D.C. United clinched their first playoff berth since 2007 with a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Crew in front of a sold out crowd of 19,647 at RFK Stadium.

The second leg of the Eastern Conference semifinals between Atlantic Cup Rivals D.C. United and the New York Red Bulls was postponed on Wednesday night at Red Bull Arena due to a snow storm in the northeast.
