White House Press Secretary Takes Son to Caps Game

**Update**  Caps defeated Rangers in Washington on Saturday, 3-2.

White House Press Secretary, Jay Carney, is a Washington Capitals fan. Who knew?

Before the start of Thursday's White House press briefing, Carney began by saying his voice was a bit sore because he took his young son to the Washington Caps game at Verizon Center on Wednesday evening. (He was also just returning to Washington from a trip to Afghanistan with President Obama).

"Last night I took my son to the Capitals' game. [It] lasted a little longer than I expected."

Carney went on to say that his son's mother, probably didn't appreciate the gesture considering he had school the next day.

"It was a thrilling game", said Carney.

The Caps lost to the New York Rangers, 2-1, in triple overtime. (Bummer).

"They're going to beat them next time", said Carney.  (He does mean the Caps will win, doesn't he)?

The series continues Saturday afternoon in Washington.
