The Linda Joy and Kenneth Jay Pollin Community, which will provide new green homes located at 810 Barnes Street, NE, and a short distance from the Minnesota Avenue Metro stop. The development will offer 83 new green three-bedroom townhouses for sale affordably priced from the mid-$200s.

"My father was driven by a desire to establish a community in the District of Columbia, where residents, especially those who work here, can find comfortable, safe, and affordably-priced homes," said Robert Pollin. "He knew MetroTowns at Parkside would offer that opportunity, just as he knew the Verizon Center would help revitalize downtown Washington. This project is the fulfillment of his dream, and we're thrilled to begin to make that dream a reality."

MetroTowns at Parkside, created by a public-private partnership comprised of the family of the late Abe Pollin, Enterprise Homes, Inc., and the City of Washington, is poised to become one of the city's newest and most vibrant planned urban communities.

"Enterprise Homes takes great pride in this partnership creating a beautiful green community at prices affordable to members of the City's workforce," said Chickie Grayson,

President and CEO of Enterprise Homes. "MetroTowns at Parkside will embrace Washington's architectural traditions with an artfully designed development that complements Ward 7's streetscape with well-placed details in a lush landscaped community. Residents can expect the best and will be proud to call MetroTowns home."

MetroTowns offers a unique homeownership opportunity in the District with prices starting in the mid-$200s. Its close proximity to the Minnesota Avenue Metro stop, downtown, I-295, Baltimore/Washington Parkway and Route 50 makes MetroTowns one of the most convenient addresses in the city. With interest rates at an all-time low and special financing available, MetroTowns is expected to draw interest from government employees, healthcare workers, teachers and other urban professionals looking to live in the city. DC government employees have the unique opportunity to purchase now, with sales open to the general public in the next few weeks.

Construction of MetroTowns will take place in phases over the next 36 months, with first deliveries expected by early 2013. The development offers a variety of floor plans with an impressive array of features.
