Chris Cooley: Love him or Hate him.

This Tight End's for the Cure!

He creates pottery. He tweets. He puts his junk on the Internet. He is able to make plays on the field. He talks 'ish' about Dallas QB Tony Romo. And he hires his brother, Tanner Cooley, to run his websites and everyday Cooley Zone logistics.

Call him what you want. Say what you will, but we know one interest that has his heart: Contributing to finding a cure for breast cancer.

And so the Redskin Pro Bowl Tight End Chris Cooley will host the
3rd Annual Cooley’s for the Cure auction to raise funds for breast cancer charities at Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm on Monday, October 10th from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The event is held in honor of Cooley’s mother, Nancy Cooley, who is a breast cancer survivor.

General admission tickets to the auction will be $65 per individual. They can be purchased at the door, or by going to www.thecooleyzone.com.

The auction will feature memorabilia worn and signed by Cooley as well as his original pottery and drawings. In addition to the artwork, Cooley’s teammates and friends will support his cause by donating and auctioning a variety of Redskins memorabilia, including autographed jerseys, footballs, and helmets.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Washington Redskins and other NFL teams around the league continue to host events in the name of finding a cure.

Keep it here as we will have more info on this topic with Chris Cooley that will also include the work of Tanya Snyder, wife of Skins' owner Dan Snyder.

In the mean time... and since you're a fan anyway, check out our Cooley fan vid.

Side note: Note to @thecooleyzone. Instead of a wrist band at the door, we suggest an 'F cancer' T-shirt to the 1st 50 patrons, instead. It will go over quite nicely, and you can afford it. Just my thought.
