DC Boxer Wins In Reno!


Boxing Along The Beltway is reporting that DC heavyweight Tony "The Tiger" Thompson scored a third-round TKO over Maurice Harris in Reno, NV Friday night in front of a nationally televised ESPN2 audience.

Thompson dropped Harris twice in the second round before scoring a knockdown in the third. Referee Vic Drakulich eventually halted the bout at 1:51 of the third.

Thompson is now 36-2, 24 KO's. Harris falls to 24-15-2, 10 KO's. Thompson is now the number two ranked IBF contender and will face number one Eddie Chambers for a world title shot.

Thompson is now the IBF's number two ranked heavyweight and will face Eddie Chambers for a chance at another world title shot!
