HU's Forum on The Media and the Black Athlete

Howard University held an informative forum last evening to talk about what many of us know already know about the media and its portrayal of the Black athlete. (I'd go further to say it should have been called the white media's unfair and biased portrayal of the Black athlete).

Even today, especially today, the Black athlete's every move and spoken word gets reported in the news (often in negative terms), while the actions and transgressions of other athletes seem to get swept under the rug, or rarely discussed at the same velocity.

Last night's panel included ESPN's Chris Brussard, reknowned and outspoken Georgetown University sociology professor Eric Michael Dyson, actor Omari Hardwick (Next Day Air), and others. The forum was hosted by actress, Melyssa Ford.
