It's Hard Out Here For A.... NFL Baller

With rumors of a 2011 NFL lockout looming (it isn't a lockout IMHO until there are no games come football season), players aren't taking any chances. NFL stars are filing for unemployment, learning a new skill, playing other sports, and wilding out.

One is even trying to cash in on being the replacement voice for an assuming duck.
Can you say Aflac!!!?

That's right. After Gilbert Godfrey was dismissed as the voice of the Aflac duck for making fun of the Japan tsumani/earthquake, the duck has been silenced. Until now.

Travel Channel's Globe Trekking host Dhani Jones wants to resusitate the commerical and breathe new life into the awkward sounding duck - with his own. The svelte, (okay - beautifully handsome) Jones explains.

In Other NFL News.
The Washington Redskins will kick off their 2011 season of fan activities on Saturday, April 30, with the annual Draft Day Party presented by NFL Ticket Exchange by Ticketmaster at FedExField. Fans will have the opportunity to hear from Head Coach Mike Shanahan following the completion of the team’s draft.

Parking lots open at 11:00 a.m. and gates open at 11:30 a.m., with free admission and parking for all fans.

Fans will also have the opportunity to test their passing and kicking skills on the field, tour the Redskins locker room, dress like a Redskins player, play in the game arcade, take pictures with the Super Bowl trophies and get active at the Redskins Play 60 youth fitness zone.

Coach Shanahan is expected to address the crowd at 5:30 p.m. (NFL Draft schedule and weather permitting).

Numerous Redskins alumni will be on hand to sign autographs and take pictures with fans. Expected to be in attendance at this time are Mike Bragg, Ravin Caldwell, Gary Clark, Ricky Ervins, Pat Fischer, Frank Grant, Dexter Manley, Ron McDole, Raleigh McKenzie, Ron Saul, George Starke, Charley Taylor and Doc Walker. Redskins Legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Ken Houston will be signing autographs at the Pro Football Hall of Fame booth on the Club Level in Section 341/342.

Fans should go to www.Redskins.com to sign up for their free Redskins Draft Day Party Pass, which is required for admission to the event.

Signing up also enters fans in the Draft Party Dream Contest, giving them a chance at a grand prize consisting of VIP access to the Draft Day Party, including a pair of Premium Tickets to a 2011 Redskins home game, the opportunity to meet Redskins alumni and cheerleaders, and an autographed football.

Fans will be admitted through the Comcast SportsNet Gate (Gate H).
