Alana Beard was seen playing basketball today with President Obama at the FBI headquarters in Washington, DC.
Beard, the star point guard for the Washington Mystics, has been on the disabled list due to a foot injury that left her out of last season.

As we mentioned earlier Monique Currie is also out this season with a torn will most likely miss the upcoming WNBA season following surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee, but remains in good spirits.
Coming off the visit with Chinese president to Washington just last week, we learn that Mystics veteran Chasity Melvin was in a bus accident while playing in China last week. Melvin was uninjured, but several others on the bus ride were injured. "They don’t have many rules on the highway, people just turn and get over and don’t use signals." Melvin explains what happened. "So when we ran off the road we crashed into the rail and the rail on the side of the road busted through the window." Click here to read more of Melvin's update.
