Arenas To Orlando

Washington Wizards have acquired forward Rashard Lewis from the Orlando Magic in exchange for guard Gilbert Arenas.

In a statement today, Wizards' president Ernie Grunfeld explained the reason for the move.

“This trade allows us to continue to rebuild around our core group of young players and provides financial flexibility as we move forward.”

The announcement comes six months after Wizards' owner Ted Leonsis said he "actually liked the guy", and called Arenas his "biggest asset".

Did he mean liability?

The 'liability', as some have called Arenas for some time now, is gone, and apparently some are even thrilled at the decision.

“We’re thrilled to have been able to accomplish those goals while also getting back a two-time All-Star in Rashard Lewis, who brings us versatility, three-point shooting and a veteran presence.”

That came again from the franchise's president.

Orlando calls the trade a "blockbuster"

Welcome to Orlando, Gilbert.

I hear the weather is nice this time of year. It will be a nice, sunny place to welcome your fourth child.
