Dearth Adding Depth?

The Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed long snapper James Dearth.

Dearth (6-4, 265) has played in 146 games over 10 seasons since entering the league as a sixth-round draft choice of the Cleveland Browns in the 1999 NFL Draft.

From 2001-09, Dearth served as the New York Jets’ long snapper for 144 regular season consecutive games and eight postseason contests. He registered 32 special teams tackles over that span. In 2001, Dearth caught three passes for 10 yards and a touchdown while playing tight end.

Dearth attended Scurry-Rosser (Texas) High School before playing his collegiate ball at Tarleton State.

His Redskin jersey number will be 67.
