Get Ready: Celebrity All-Star Weekend

Mark your calendar: Big Tigger All-Star Celebrity Weekend is quickly approaching.

Known as a distinct voice of hip-hop, TV and radio host Big Tigger affirms his commitment to HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention with the 9th installment of the Big Tigger’s Annual Celebrity Classic. Using his celebrity as host of CBS Radio’s WPGC 95.5 FM “Morning Show with Big Tigger” and host of WDCW CW’s “Direct Access”, Big Tigger will assemble high-profile celebrities from the entertainment and professional sports fields for one of Washington, DC’s largest HIV/AIDS awareness events. Big Tigger’s 9th Annual Celebrity Classic will be held June 11-12, 2010.


Known for his inimitable command of entertainment, Big Tigger continues to earn the support of A-List celebrities including past participants such as Alicia Keys (R&B Artist), T.I. (Hip-Hop Artist/ Actor), Ludacris (Hip-Hop Artist/Actor), Vivica A. Fox (Actress), Idris Elba (Actor), Raheem Devaughn (R&B Artist), DJ Clue (MTV Personality), Trey Songz (R&B Artist), Gabrielle Union (Actress) and Taraji Henson (Actress) as well as NBA All-Stars and NFL Pro Bowlers such as Terrell Owens (NFL), Allen Iverson (NBA), Carmelo Anthony (NBA), Gilbert Arenas (NBA), Vince Carter (NBA), Antawn Jamison (NBA), Darren Sharper (NFL), Kenyon Martin (NBA), and Shawne Marriman (NFL).

As the cornerstone event of the Street Corner Foundation (SCF), Big Tigger’s 9th Annual Celebrity Classic is expected to impact over 50,000 Washington, DC residents with goal to increase testing and raise awareness of HIV/AIDS. Big Tigger’s 9th Annual Celebrity Classic weekend line-up will include a Youth Sports Clinic, an HIV Testing Initiative, a Welcome Reception & Silent Auction before the annual All-Star Basketball Game.

Big Tigger is highly recognized for this efforts and his ability to raise awareness in the African American community. In 2007 and 2008, the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) recognized the TV and radio personality as one of the prominent African American leaders in the fight against HIV/AIDS. He was also awarded the 2006 Visionary of the Year by the National Association of Black State Legislators for his work with HIV/AIDS. Through a series of events throughout the year, the Foundation and Big Tigger echo the message “Get Tested and Know Your Status.”
