Mystics In The Off Season

The Washington Mystics continue to keep busy when they're not playing here in DC for the home crowd.

In Turkish league play, Matee Ajavon scored 14 points, had five rebounds, two assists and two steals in Fenerbahce's 84-64 victory over Istanbul.

Alana Beard made her first appearance for Lotos Gdynia. She scored two points in five minutes of play in the 74-61 victory against Szeviep. Beard and Lotos continued their winning streak with a 68-59 victory over LKS. She was 3 for 4 from the field for six points.

Marissa Coleman and Schio defeated Gospic 91-76. Coleman scored seven points, grabbed four rebounds and had two steals. The wins kept on coming as Schio defeated Pool 89-57, and Coleman shot 50% from the field for nine points and had three rebounds and one steal.

Monique Currie and Umana were in action and lost a close one to Faenza. Currie scored 16 points and had seven rebounds. She also had two steals, all in 19 minutes of play.

Crystal Langhorne and Rivas faced Candice Dupree in a contest that saw Rivas winning 74-58 in spite of Langhorne scoring only three points. She did, however, grab nine rebounds in the contest. Langhorne and Rivas destroyed Argon 73-49, and Langhorne recorded another double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Bernice Mosby and San Giovanni lost to Napoli 77-68. Mosby scored 15 points, grabbed five rebounds and had five steals. San Giovanni and Mosby took on Rebekkah Brunson and Taranto but were not able to emerge victorious. They were defeated 73-60; Mosby had seven points and six steals in the contests.
