Nothing But Net! Wizards Win!

No tricks, just treats, as the Wizards win their Halloween home opener against the New Jersey Nets.

Gilbert Arenas, returning to the game with hints of the Arenas of old, hit a three pointer with :24 secs left in the 1st quarter showing fans he's all business. Arenas scored 32 points on the night, followed by Andray Blatche's career-high 30 points.

Chris Douglas-Roberts was the high scorer for the Nets with 25. Rafer Alston chimed in with 20 points and eight assists.

The Wizards played without team captain, Caron Butler, who sustained a bruised left kneecap against the Atlanta Hawks when he dived to the floor to retrieve a rebound in the second quarter of Friday's 89-100 loss to the Atlanta Hawks.

Also missing in action was Antawn Jamison, who is expected to miss at least two more weeks with a shoulder injury sustained in preseason action against Cleveland.

The 2-1 Wizards, under new coach Flip Saunders, face the Cavaliers on Tuesday, Nov. 3rd, in Cleveland.
