To silence the rumors surrounding the security (and sanctity) of the head coaching position of Jim Zorn of the Washington Redskins, Executive Vice President of Football Operations, Vinnie Cerrato made the following statement today to all in the sound of his voice:
The players have rallied behind their coach, and those in the Redskins' front office continue to claim Zorn as the coach of the franchise.
Yet, as we mentioned last week, Zorn's play calling services are no longer needed.
Despite not being able to uphold the highest honor of a coach during a football game, coach Zorn says doesn't let the media see him sweat. His reaction?
One thing is for sure. You can forget labeling the return of Mike Vick to the NFL after his dog fight charges as perhaps the biggest event of this football season so far. Come Monday night, dog fighting charges by an NFL player will pale in comparison.

The Washington Redskins announced today that head football coach Chris Parker of Clarke County High School in Berryville, VA has been named Redskins High School Coach of the Week for the week of October 19, 2009.
The Redskins High School Coach of the Week program is designed to recognize and reward excellence in high school football coaching. Each week during the 2009 high school football season, the Redskins will select one area high school head coach as the Redskins High School Coach of the Week. The selection is based on the coach's continuing commitment towards promoting youth football, developing motivated student-athletes, his overall community involvement and overall team performance and record.
Coach Parker has been coaching football for 27 years with this season being his 10th year as head coach at Clarke County High School. During his career, Parker has been named the 2007 & 2008 Bull Run District Coach of the Year and the 2008 Northern Virginia Daily Coach of the Year. His success can be attributed to the example he sets for his team. He emphasizes hard work and dedication and challenges his student-athletes to be the best on and off the field. Off the field, Coach Parker and his team have found ways to give back to the community. Parker runs an “Eagle Football” camp for youth football players during the summer along with hosting a “Little League” night during the football season where local youth football players and cheerleaders are honored at the game. A number of his student-athletes also work with a special-ed PE class, volunteer at local little league programs, and serve as mentors at local middle schools.
“It is amazing what Coach Parker and his staff has been able to accomplish with our limited facilities and funding. The football staff has been instrumental in involving the community in our football program, to a point where the community is proud to be a part of it” says Clarke County Athletic Director Casey Childs. The Eagles are currently 7-0 and ranked 1st in the Max Preps Virginia State A Power Rankings.
[Each of the coaches chosen throughout the high school season will receive a $1,000 donation from the NFL Youth Football Fund to their football program and a framed certificate signed by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Redskins Head Coach Jim Zorn.]

I have a contract and it says what it says.”As we've mentioned, the Redskins take on Philadelphia this Monday at FedEx Field, McNabb and Vick in tow. The Skins beat the Eagles twice last season and the Eagles lost to Oakland last Sunday so there's a lot riding on this game. A lot.
