Brian Mitchell Enters The Redskin Ring of Fame

After playing for both Philadelphia and Washington, how fitting it was to have the Ring of Fame celebration for Brian Mitchell during last night’s Skins vs Philly game.

Ironically enough, it was during a 1990 Skins vs Philly game that Mitchell played the role of substitute quarterback when the Eagles wreaked havoc on both the Redskins’ starting and backup quarterbacks.

The game was eventually called ‘The Body Bag Game’.

Mitchell joins the ranks of Bill Dudley, Sean Taylor, and other Redskin players whose playing records speak for themselves.

Mitchell has a combined 22,330 yards and is one of only four players to record four seasons of over 2,000 total yards. Mitchell also holds the honor for being number one in all time punt return yards (nearly 5,000).

“I’m real proud of him”, said former Georgetown coach turned ESPN talk show host, John Thompson.
