Street Soccer USA

Street Soccer and its umbrella organization HELP USA will hold the 2009 Street Soccer USA Cup (SSUSA Cup) in Washington, DC, from July 31st through August 2nd at the Washington Kastles Stadium.

Street Soccer USA is a sports based organization focused on eradicating homelessness and poverty via onsite soccer programs and community building at social service agencies and homeless shelters across the nation. The SSUSA Cup brings together the 16-team league comprised of homeless men and women across the US for three days of competition and camaraderie in which one team will capture the National SSUSA Cup title. The top 8 players at the SSUSA Cup, who exemplify leadership, sportsmanship, and skill both on and off the field, go on to represent the US in the 48-nation Homeless World Cup which will be held in Milan, Italy in/this September, 2009.

Sponsors of the 2009 SSUSA Cup include: The Ted Leonsis Family Foundation, National Coalition for the Homeless, The Case Foundation, Washington Kastles, Help USA, Nike, U.S. Soccer Foundation, e7sports, D.C. United and Hudson Restaurant and Lounge.

Saturday, August 1st at 7:30pm – SSUSA’s Sport for Social Change Awards Dinner at Hudson Restaurant & Lounge

Sunday, August 2nd at 3pm – SSUSA Cup Final Games (3rd/4th place match at 3pm, Finals at 3:40pm)
