Redskins Lose. Vick Wins.

The only team in the NFL not to score a point in preseason action last night, the Redskins lose to the Baltimore Ravens 0-23.

Who's to say the outcome would have been a bit different had Santana Moss, Albert Haynesworth and Clinton Portis (all out with minor injuries) played.

We've heard...."It's just the preseason." "It doesn't matter."

Let's hope the preseason isn't a precursor for, or indicative of, what we can expect in regular season action.

The Redskins struggled (literally) in most facets of last night's game: passing, receiving, rushing, an interception, and definitely scoring.

“It’s never good when you come out and don’t score any points. I’m sure there are going to be plenty of mistakes on the film", said Skins QB Todd Collins who completed 8-of-11 passes for 70 yards.

Accentuating the Positive
They say there's always a positive in every situation.

QB Jason Campbell, who threw for 38 yards (compared to 103 yards by Ravens' QB Joe Flacco), is happy his team "moved the ball". Malcolm Kelly caught for 25 yards. Orakpo foiled a Ravens rushing attempt by tackling Ravens' Troy Smith, and RB Rock Cartwright rushed for 26 yards off four carries.

"We can learn and improve off this game and move forward", said rookie LB Brian Orakpo, despite the team's loss.

The Ravens, netted 500 offensive yards, 408 on passing. Here's the recap, that says it all.

What the Skins Need To Do Now
“We need to finish drives,” Zorn said. “We have to do a better job of hanging onto the ball. We dropped some passes and had a fumble on a potential scoring drive."

Other Monday night pre-season action: Patriots 27, Eagles 25 / Raiders 31, Cowboys 10 / Steelers 20, Cardinals

Vick gets a two-year Philly deal with the first year garnering him $1.6m, with an option for the second year worth $5.2 million.
