Tigger’s 3rd Annual HIV/AIDS Ride For Life

TV personality and syndicated radio host Big Tigger announces the third installment of Big Tigger’s HIV/AIDS Ride For Life; launching his most aggressive fundraising and awareness campaign benefiting HIV/AIDS.

Presented by the Street Corner Foundation, LLC (SCF), the motorcycle charity ride & grand finale event will bring together over 2,000 bikers and enthusiasts to increase community action and raise local and national awareness about the importance—and ease—of HIV testing. Big Tigger’s 3rd Annual HIV/AIDS Ride For Life will be held Sunday, August 23, 2009 leaving Washington, DC’s RFK Stadium and conclude at Six Flags America in Upper Marlboro, MD.

Ride For Life will bring together veteran riders and newcomers alike to make the 10.2-mile trek to raise funds to support the Foundation’s efforts to eradicate HIV/AIDS and to showcase the community’s determination to end the devastating disease. The event’s primary goal is to raise awareness and address the increasing rate of infection in communities of color and in individuals under the age of 25 in the Washington DC area and beyond.

Last year, RIDE FOR LIFE garnished the support of over 180 motorcycle clubs, 2,000 registered bikers, DC Mayor Adrian Fenty and local government agencies. Haling as the largest African-American motorcycle benefit for HIV/AIDS awareness, last year’s ride tested a record breaking 854 participants during the HIV/AIDS testing initiative.

To participate in this year’s event, riders may pre-register in person at various locations including T.G.I. Friday’s in Greenbelt, MD every Wednesday from 8-10 pm, Freestate Cycle on Central Ave. in Capitol Heights, MD, or online at www.streetcornerfoundation.org, www.bigtigger.com, or www.wpgc.com.

Registration is $30 and includes the ride, the grand finale event and cookout at Six Flags.
