Phelps (Baltimore) won Best Male Athlete, Best Record Breaking Performance, and Best Championship Performance while Alex 'Ovie' Ovechkin got the nod for Best NHL Player and Best Play during the Caps' bid for the 2009 Stanley Cup. There was no question that Phelps was going to bring home those awards. I think he won a few others. It was quite ridiculous, but so was what he did in Beijing.
