Weights Announced for Jimmy Lange Bout!

Jimmy Lange, looking to secure his second WBC regional title, takes on New York's Frank Houghtaling this Saturday at the GM Patriot Center.

Local fight match maker, JD Brown, talks about Jimmy Lange and this Saturday's card.

"It's going to be an exciting night of boxing for everyone involved. People are going to see a new and improved Jimmy Lange under the tuteledge of Don Turner. They'll see that Jimmy wasn't just a TV celebrity on The Contender, but he's actually a real good fighter who could be become world champion in the very near future. People are going to get their money's worth."
Ring announcer, Henry 'Discombobulating' Jones weighs in on the event.

"Once again this is the franchise that Jimmy built. We're expecting a great crowd and certainly looking for all the fighters to be competent, and I'm going to pump them up as much as I can."

As far as this Saturday's Jimmy Lange championship bout goes, Jones said: "Jimmy realizes that window of opportunity is closing, so he not only has to win tomorrow night, but he's got to look impressive in doing so."

Weighing in at 152 pounds, Lange tells us,
"I don't need to talk about anything any more. I prove things by doing them. They're gonna see a focused, completely prepared (mentally, physically) well-oiled machine."
Brown, who bought Houghtaling to DC a couple of year's ago in a fight against Sharmba Mitchell, when asked why the fight is on the same night as the Ricky Hatton vs. Manny Pacquiao fight said, "A lot of people are going to TiVO the Hatton fight. A lot of people are going to wait for it to come on HBO for free. So (in the mean time), they can come out and see an actual live bout; see actual blood, sweat and tears on May 2nd at the Patriot Center instead of sitting at home eating popcorn waiting for the fight on Pay-Per-View, or next week on HBO."

The May 2nd fight is being produced by Ice Promotions. Doors open at 6:00 pm.

Side note: Speaking of fights in Las Vegas, I heard that Floyd Mayweather has a July 18th fight coming up with Juan Manuel Marquez. I'm putting this out into the universe: I'd like round trip tickets, hotel, and ALL ACCESS press pass for this occasion, please!
