The Thrill Is Gone!

Caps Lose to Penguins, 6-2.

Fans will have to wait until next season to Rock-the-Red as the Pittsburg Penguins out fought the Caps at home last evening to take a season ending 6-2 win over the home team in Game 7.

Penguins' Sidney Crosby game out strong early on in the game, scoring twice - while the Caps' Ovechkin, struggled against the opposing team's defense.

Watch highlights below.

Just before the game, fans outside the Verizon Center could be seen trying to get tickets as best they could.

Whether trying to buy them on the street, (or on online), tickets for the hottest sporting event in town were close to impossible, if not completely impossible, to get. Those trying to get tickets found they were either sold out, or too expensive.

Those left without tickets watched at home, or convened at neighboring watering holes like The Green Turtle next to the Verizon Center (see photos).

Fan reaction was mixed as they cheered for their team's efforts, while feeling the disappointment of a crushing loss.

The Penguins advance in their quest for the Stanley Cup, facing either the Bruins or the Hurricanes.
