What Is All This Talk About Trading Me, My Dear?

In an unconfirmed gesture, one that had many in the DC area left wondering why, the Redskins were talking trading their star quarterback, Jason Campbell for Denver Broncos' Jay Cutler.

Cutler eventually went to the Chicago Bears, and the Redskins brought in free agent quarterback, Byron Leftwich to work out at Redskins park.

Neither Cutler, nor Leftwich, will become a Redskin, and Skins' EVP of Operations, Vinnie Cerrato had only this to say.

"We met with Jason today [Friday] and had a candid discussion. We told Jason that when Jay Cutler became available we, like many other NFL teams, spoke with the Broncos.

"We are all on the same page and we are moving forward."

Moving forward with what? Scoping out more players to replace Campbell? The Skins still have yet to extend Campbell's contract, so fans still don't know if Jason will continue to be 'shopped around'.

When we spoke to Campbell earlier this year, Campbell had this to say about returning to the lineup next season...

DC UrbanSports: One last question. I’m getting this from the horse’s mouth. Are you coming back next season?

Jason Campbell: [Laughing] “Yeah, I’ll be back.
