Howard Player Named Independent Player of the Week

Howard University’s Sakita Holley was named the women’s lacrosse Independent Player of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday.

Holley (A, 5-3, Sr., Willingboro, N.J.) had a career-best 11 goals versus Wilmington and netted three goals in a decision against Longwood. For the week Holley had seven ground balls, 14 goals and 14 points.

With 32 points on 31 goals and one assist, Holley leads the team in scoring.

Howard hosts Fresno State in a senior day matchup on Saturday, April 11. Face-off is slated for 10 a.m. at Greene Stadium.

Also nominated: Liz Sellmayer (Longwood).
