Subway - And Ali - Help Kids Eat Fresh!

In an attempt to help younger kids learn how to eat right and exercise more, world champion female boxer, Laila Ali, World Cup soccer player, Tab Ramos, and Subway® spokesperson Jared Fogle encouraged youth from area schools to eat fresh, limit TV and video game activity and exercise more.

At the Subway/National Institute of Health's We Can! pep rally at the DC Armory's gym, over one-hundred kids were placed at different exercise stations as they participated in various physical activities such as jumping rope, relay races, basketball drills, and kicking soccer balls. The kids were also treated to a healthy Subway lunch that included a sandwich, apple slices, and a juice drink.

Said Fogle about overcoming his weight loss...
"I was a fat kid in school. I would stay in front of the TV or play video games, snack on the wrong foods, and I had a sedentary lifestyle."
However, through proper nutrition and exercise Jared lost over 190 pounds. He attributes daily walking to helping him keep the weight off for the last ten years. Read about Jared's amazing weight loss journey here.

While the daughter of boxing great, Muhammad Ali is busy being a new mom, she continues to work out and also stresses proper nutrition.

"Eating fresh or frozen vegetables, switching from white rice to brown rice, exercising for at least an hour, and having parents getting involved", are a few of Laila's tips to families for getting, and staying, healthy.
