With President Obama Courtside, Wizards Win!

February 27, 2009 - Our president gets a lesson in letting go...of the Chicago Bulls, that is.

At least, he should.

The Wizards defeated the presidential-proud Bulls, 113-90, Friday night at the Verizon center, letting Mr. President know that he's in our house now and that any thoughts of having the Bulls remain his favorite NBA team, have got to go!

The win also lends evidence to the old adage that 'the third time's the charm'.

The Bulls won twice against the Wizards this season, both times, in their house.

The home team gave a solid performance on the night and played convincingly well, getting most players involved in scoring, rebounding, and assists.

Antawn Jamison scored 27, while Caron Butler etched out 14 points on the Presidential NBA evening.

"Hopefully we converted him (President Obama) a little bit", said Butler.

Center, Darius Songaila added twelve impressive game points.

John Salmons led the Bulls with 25 points.

While the Bulls' visit to the White House on Thursday did little to help them win tonight's game, certainly having President Obama court side, and in the mix of fans and players of his new home - Washington, DC - provided a boost that the 14-44 Wizards so desparately need.

The fact that he sat court side, speaks volumes! How many high profile people sit court side at our sports games? they're usually in the sky/luxury boxes way up there!
