Speaking of the Super Bowl, That's A Mighty Fine.....

I often laughed at Russ Parr's parody of the Caucasian football 'coach' who calls in to the Russ Parr Morning Show talking about the physique of African American football players. To paraphrase, the 'coach' calls in usually to comment on a player's athleticism, and well, their butts.

"That's a fine African American specimen right there", you'd often hear the 'coach' say.

So, when the video of the Arizona Cardinal's Larry Fitzgerald, (a.k.a. Leaping Larry) started surfacing the sports world, I too, made a comment that Mr. Fitzgerald was looking kinda good in his football uniform. We all saw Mr. Fitzgerald catch that ball in his bright red Arizona jersey and white football pants (that he filled out so athletically from the rear), and I'm sure I'm not the only chick who thought he looked good catching those passes.

However,.....

When guys on TV start making similar comments, about other guys physiques none-the-less, I take note. Case in point.

Take today's show on ESPN with Erik Kuselias who helps co-host ESPN's First and 10 . The guys were talking about the Super Bowl, and of course Larry Fitzgerald's video highlights were playing in the background.

"That's a good looking player", said Kuselias.

What do you mean, his hair (Fitzgerald has dreds), or his physique, asked his co-host?

"It's everything", said Kuselias, in a he's-got-the-total-package kinda response mode.

Don't get me wrong, dudes making comments about dudes' physiques is nothing new, but if you could have heard Kuselias, you'd say "Whoa!" (If only that show was podcast somewhere).

Now, before you get all 'what's the point of this post' on me, remember guys comment on female physiques all the time. Here's my chance to reciprocate.

Any who, here's Fitz in action...

By the way - my Super Bowl pick is the Steelers over the Cardinals 27-17. But I think it will be even closer than that, actually.

Go Steelers!
