September 16, 2008 - The Greater Washington Sports Alliance hosted its 5th annual SneakerBall event at the National Building Museum, that raised over $750,000 for the Alliance and its League of Charities.
This year’s event honored former Redskins players Brian Mitchell and Brig Owens; and Utah Jazz/ NBA Hall of Famer and Washington, D.C.’s DeMatha High School’s Adrian Dantley.
Washington Capitals’ Alex Ovechkin received the DC Sportsman of the Year Award.
