What To Do. What To Do. (With the Kids)

Get the kids ready for some summertime sporting fun!

If you're a parent looking for constructive activities to keep your little ones busy this summer, take a look at our list of upcoming activities starting with Santana Moss' football camp this weekend at Mt. Vernon High School (part of his birthday weekend celebration).

Update: See photos from the camp.

Next up, Caron Butler's 3D summer basketball camp for kids, beginning June 23rd. Last year's inaugural camp found a lot of area kids having a great time. Here's how to sign up for one, or both, sessions this year.

Then there's Roger Mason, Jr.'s baskeball camp for kids. Info on that, here.

And, if sports aren't your child's thing, there's a couple of chess events coming up for beginners and skilled players.

*** May 31st: DC Scholastic Chess Championship at the MLK Library (901 G Street). Registration at 900 am.

*** June 29th: 'Yes, I Play Chess' event featuring titled, and untitled boxers, at the Thurgood Marshall Center. Time: 2-7pm. (Maurice Ashley, chess grandmaster, showed up for the March event).

Any idea what the cost is for these events? Or will the web sites have that info?
