The Baltimore Ravens (and fans) suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, 17-10, in Sunday’s AFC title game. But before the game, fans came out in regal attire to cheer on their home team.
We met the Kellys at the Washington Auto Show where they shared their excitement about the game and the possibility of being Super Bowl bound. They shared that they’ve never seen Ravens games inside M&T Bank stadium, but that their tailgating outside the stadium is an experience.
DC UrbanSports asked what it’s been like tailgating before the games.
“Oh, it’s been a ball”, said Purcel Kelly. “We have the possibility of having four
future hall of famers there: coach Harbaugh, Lamar Jackson, Odell Beckham
(Jr.), and our kicker, Justin Tucker. So we are excited as fans. Oh my goodness”,
he said.
Certainly the city had high hopes. The city dressed in the
color purple (no pun intended), with Mrs. Kelly co-signing.

“Purple everything”, she said.
And what’s on their tailgating menu, besides burgers?
“Crab cakes, crab bowls, and our new favorite, seafood pot
pie”, said Mr. Kelly.
The tailgating lasts about 45 minutes and then the pair “head
to their destination spot to watch the game.”
We’re hoping that someone will bless the Kellys with tickets
to a game, and if they’re feeling really generous, perhaps bless the couple with tickets to the
entire next season of Ravens football.
“That would be excellent”, Mr. Kelly said. “We would love to go.”
We would love that for you as well!
