MAIN EVENT: Dusty Hernandez-Harrison Returns to Boxing

WASHINGTON, DC (November 16, 2022) - After a two-and-a-half-year hiatus and following the tragic death of his father/trainer Buddy Harrison, undefeated DC boxer Dusty Hernandez-Harrison (34-0, 20 KOs) returns to the ring as the headliner of Beltway Battles: Round Three this Saturday, Nov. 19, 7:00 pm at the Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, D.C.

Set to face Jose Humberto Corral (20-31, 12 KOs) of Huatambampo, Sonora, Mexico in the eight-round heavyweight Main Event, Hernandez-Harrison, who also serves as a co-promoter with New Jersey middleweight contender Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna’s Rising Star Promotions and Blue Cork Strategies in partnership with Events DC, is ready to return to boxing after experiencing a long layoff and losing his Dad on Sept. 24, 2022.

“Everyone knows about my father. It’s been rough training through that, and it’s been hard to stay motivated through that too but I’m confident in going out there and getting the win. It’s great to just get back in the ring. Honestly the best thing that I can do is fight and just keep going,” explained the District native who last fought February 8, 2020 in Vienna, Va. and returns to fight in his hometown for the first time since May 13, 2016.

The event will feature 10 bouts including Greg “Sharpshooter” Outlaw Jr. (10-1, 5 KOs) of Glenarden, Md. and Barranquilla, Colombia’s Wilfrido Buelvas (22-15, 16 KOs) squaring off again in the eight-round lightweight Co-Main Event. The two fought on Beltway Battles: Round Two in a bout that ended in a no contest due to cuts from an accidental headbutt.

Prior to the Main Event, promoters will honor and celebrate the life of Buddy Harrison, the highly-respected boxing trainer, gym owner and Washington, DC community advocate, by playing a tribute video that will be introduced by DC native Anwan “Big G” Glover, leader of the legendary DC Go-Go group, the BackYard Band (BYB), and an actor known for his role as Slim Charles on HBO’s The Wire.
