Kettani, a current Redskins fullback and 2009 graduate of the United States Naval Academy, will celebrate his promotion to Lieutenant from his previous rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade at Redskins Park on Monday.
Kettani has asked Shanahan and Turner to do the honor of pinning insignia denoting his new officer rank on his uniform before taking his oath.
In addition to pursuing his NFL dreams and his active interest in art, Kettani has served three years active duty and deployed with the USS Klakring.
Kettani joined the Redskins as a free agent on September 11, 2012, was a practice squad member during the team’s NFC East title run that season. He used the 2013 offseason to tour military bases across the country to honor and recognize service members for their contributions and sacrifice.
