New York Giants' wide receiver Victor Cruz paid a visit to the Nation's Capital during all the inaugural celebration this past weekend.
We spotted him on the Red Carpet at the 2013 Hip Hop Inaugural Ball sponsored by music mogul Russell Simmons.
We asked him to salsa, to which he replied, "The season's over". Of course we had to tell him the Salsa is "always in season".
We also spotted former Redskin Oshiomogho Atogwe in the midst of the hundreds of people in attendance. He was kind enough to shake our hand and briefly chat.
The HIB honored pioneers of rap and awarded MC Lyte and Doug E. Fresh with Lifetime Achievement honors and also highlighted the work of other artists who make their communities better as a result of their giving back. Artist John Legend was honored with the Humanitarian of The Year honor for his work in helping under served schools, kids and families with his Show Me project.
Carmelo Anthony's wife, La La Vasquez Anthony hosted the event and performances were provided by Doug E. Fresh, comedian Wayne Brady, and Marsha Ambrosius, formerly of the girl duo, Floetry.
